Freedom Friday: 5/20 Resource Round-up

Most Fridays, I put together this ‘resource round-up’ of news, events, and articles that I hope will inspire and support you in living a liberated life. If you have suggestions to share with other readers, please post in the comment section.

Find Your Elephant Self
As you may know if you were reading the LLP back in January, I was lucky enough to spend 10 days on a profound journey with elephants in Thailand, led by musician Jami Sieber. Next January, Jami will bring another group of people on that same trip. If you have an affinity for those magnificent animals, this is the trip of a lifetime. You can find out more about the trip here.

And More On Elephants…
Speaking of the elephants, if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, please do come to this benefit on July 10 to support the Boon Lott’s Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand. This is a great cause — Boon Lott’s is devoted to creating a safe and natural environment for Thai elephants. The benefit features performances by Jami Sieber and harpist Lorin Grean. I’m going to attend this event and I’d love to meet some LLP readers in person there!

Create Your Own Work
This is a big week for me… I just finished Chris Guillebeau’s year-long Empire Building course. I’ll write a review soon but I also want to point out Chris’ Unconventional Guide to Working for Yourself as a great starting point if you’re building your own business and need some support. The Guide consists of a 53-page e-book with a wealth of knowledge and very actionable ideas, three recorded audio sessions, and more.

Free Webinar on Social Media
If you do have your own business, many of your ideal clients are using Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter on a regular basis. The problem is that most of us don’t know how to use these sites effectively (and efficiently) to reach the people we need to connect with. On May 25, Social Media expert George Kao will offer a free webinar on his “Time-Saving Social Media Formula for Gaining New Clients.” I’ve taken a number of George’s courses; I’ve learned a lot from him and really appreciate his integrity and coaching skills.

Creating Conscious Relationships
There’s still time to sign up for the Conscious Partnering Conference, a free virtual event taking place May 23 – 27. Riane Eisler, Gary Zukav, Gangaji, Gay and Katie Hendricks, Robert Gass and Judith Ansara, Deva Premal and others will share stories and practices for creating healthy partnerships. You can access all presentations via your telephone, and you’ll be able to download the recordings if you can’t attend the live events. You can sign up here.

The World We Live In

11 Ways to Reduce Your Oil Use
This week I discovered a blog that I am really loving—Always Well Within penned by Sandra Pawula. (Can we say “penned” for a blog?!) AWW reminds me a lot of the vision of the Liberated Life Project. In Sandra’s words, it’s about “personal transformation for people who aren’t afraid to think deeply, explore their inner self, and create positive change – for themselves and for the world.” One of the articles I especially enjoyed was one from last June titled “11 Ways to Reduce Your Oil Use.”

If you appreciated this article, please consider joining “Team Liberation” to receive these posts by email, plus other goodies from the Liberated Life Project.

  1. Maia,

What a rich resource round-up! I love the different topic areas you touch upon to help people find more freedom in living, loving, and being.

It’s been a joy to connect with you and begin to explore your blog too. Your vision resonates beautifully. Thanks so much for your kind words and link love. Wishing you well always.

That's what the Liberated Life Project is all about.
